Mechanical & Reliability Engineering
Component, system, and plant-level engineering grounded in real-world operating context, built to perform and built to last.
Honest engineering. Practical solutions. Relentless reliability. We engineer machinery and systems that keep plants running and businesses profitable, today and for the long haul.
To help clients reclaim and sustain uptime by engineering machinery and systems that are safe, reliable, and built to last.
Reliability Engineering, LLC is led by Joseph Dexter, P.E., CMRP, a professional engineer who has been honing his craft since 2006 and who stands behind his work in the field, not just on paper.
Joe is a mechanical and reliability engineer with a knack for solving the problems other engineers walk away from. Past work has required a Department of Defense security clearance. His résumé runs from forensic analysis and ASME repairs to full system redesigns: crystallin product agitator drives, subgrade wastewater pits, blower systems, dryer feed systems, and more.
"Running machines generate revenue. Broken machines generate expense. Let me help you maximize your profit."
Reliability Engineering serves operations, maintenance, and engineering teams who need work done thoughtfully and right the first time. Clients who hire a P.E. because the consequences of getting it wrong are real. Whether the call is for a code-stamped repair, a forensic root cause investigation, or a clean-sheet redesign, the standard is the same: practical experience, technical rigor, and engineering decisions you can defend long after the invoice is paid.
We work the full asset lifecycle (design, analysis, repair, and reliability improvement) across rotating, fixed, and mobile machinery.
Component, system, and plant-level engineering grounded in real-world operating context, built to perform and built to last.
Code-compliant inspection, repair, and alteration of in-service pressure equipment under ASME BPV Section VIII Division 1.
Finite element analysis for design validation, lift-plan engineering, and forensic investigation, with results we'll defend.
Root cause analysis (RCA), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and forensic engineering for incident review and litigation support.
Lifting devices and rigging engineering for critical lifts. Designed, analyzed, and stamped for the loads they actually see.
RCM programs, preventive maintenance plans, asset hierarchies, and spare parts strategies, typically built around ISO 14224.
Corrosion assessments, mitigation recommendations, and materials selection grounded in metallurgy training and field experience.
New product development, machine design, and CAD documentation for OEM, aftermarket, and one-off industrial applications.
A short tour through recent reliability, mechanical, and structural engineering projects.
The way we operate, on every project, with every client.
We tell clients the truth, even when it's inconvenient, because sound decisions depend on accurate information.
We apply proven engineering principles creatively to solve complex, real-world problems.
We stay with difficult problems until they are fully understood and permanently resolved.
A future where downtime is designed out, not tolerated.
